The Two Holy Mosques welcome millions of worshippers on the night of the Quran's completion
Millions of Muslims around the world are turning their attention to Mecca and Medina, as the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced the completion of all its preparations and field plans to receive the expected millions of visitors on the night of the completion of the Holy Quran, which coincides with the twenty-ninth night of the blessed month of Ramadan.
Historically, the night of the Quran's completion at the Two Holy Mosques is considered one of the most spiritually significant nights that Muslims have been keen to observe for centuries. On this blessed night, the recitation of the Holy Quran concludes during the Taraweeh prayers, and hands are raised in supplication in a majestic display of faith that unites Muslims from all corners of the earth. Since its founding, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has consistently dedicated all its resources to serving the pilgrims and developing the infrastructure of the Two Holy Mosques year after year to accommodate the increasing numbers who flock to perform the rituals and acts of worship during this holy month.

Integrated service system and advanced infrastructure
To ensure the comfort of worshippers on this exceptional night, the Authority provided a comprehensive system of services. The plan included intensifying carpet care through continuous cleaning and perfuming, and preparing additional prayer areas in the arcades and outer courtyards to accommodate the massive influx of worshippers. In addition, comprehensive cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization procedures were enhanced, and blessed Zamzam water was made available through multiple distribution points throughout the area to serve those visiting the mosque.
On the infrastructure front, the authority enhanced operational efficiency through a thorough inspection of the air conditioning, lighting, and sound systems that transmit the recitation and prayers to millions of worshippers with crystal clarity. The readiness of elevators, escalators, and safety and emergency systems was also verified to ensure the continued provision of high-quality services during peak hours.

Smart crowd management and innovative digital solutions
To address the challenges posed by large crowds, the Authority implemented precise traffic routes within the Two Holy Mosques and their courtyards to ensure smooth movement and minimize congestion. Electric vehicle traffic was organized, and dedicated lanes were established to guarantee pedestrian safety. The Authority also expanded its use of digital solutions, such as providing interactive 3D maps to help visitors easily reach their destinations, and activating the "Where Are We?" barcode-based location tracking service, which reduces travel time to essential facilities and services.
Field support and global impact
On the ground, teams were supported with foot patrols equipped with the latest simultaneous translation devices to communicate with visitors in their various languages, and guest care centers were activated to provide immediate guidance and support. Efforts focused on enhancing the experience of those observing i'tikaf and praying by providing standard and Braille copies of the Quran for the visually impaired, activating the digital prayer guide, and continuing to offer comprehensive medical and awareness services.
The Kingdom's success in managing these millions of pilgrims on the night of the Quran's completion extends beyond the local level, impacting regionally and internationally. It reflects the Kingdom's exceptional crowd management capabilities, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to enrich the experience of pilgrims and provide world-class services. Furthermore, the live broadcast of these rituals conveys a message of peace, tranquility, and Islamic unity to all corners of the globe, reinforcing the status of the Two Holy Mosques as the beating heart of the entire Muslim world.
