Umm Al-Qura University graduates its 74th class under the patronage of Khalid bin Faisal

On an exceptional academic evening in the Holy City of Mecca, under the generous patronage of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Umm Al-Qura University the graduation of its seventy-fourth class of students. The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, representing His Royal Highness, and was held in the King Saud Hall at the university campus in Al-Abdiyyah.

This celebration reinforces Umm Al-Qura University's position as one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic world. Since its founding, the university has consistently provided the job market with qualified graduates, while remaining true to its Makkah identity and its global mission. The ceremony celebrated the graduation 12,649 students, representing various disciplines and academic levels, reflecting the university's rich academic diversity. The Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Khalid bin Thamer Al-Thaqafi, announced the details of the graduating class as follows:

  • Total number of graduates: 4,886 students.
  • Total number of graduates: 7,763 students.
  • Bachelor's degree: 8,520 graduates.
  • Postgraduate Studies (Master's): 831 graduates.
  • Postgraduate Studies (PhD): 182 graduates.
  • Diploma programs: 3,054 graduates.
  • Higher Diploma: 62 graduates.

Timeless words and the oath of the profession

The ceremony began with a speech by the University President, Professor Dr. Maadi bin Mohammed Al-Mathhab, who expressed his deepest gratitude to the wise leadership – may God support them – for their generous support of the education sector, congratulating the graduates and their families on this achievement. Graduate Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Maliki, in his address on behalf of the graduates, expressed feelings of pride and honor at reaping the rewards of their years of study. In a solemn scene, the graduates of the health colleges took the "Professional Oath" after the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Mufti, pledging to God their dedication to serving humanity and their nation.

Honoring Innovation and Excellence

The ceremony was not limited to the distribution of certificates, but also witnessed a special honoring gesture from His Highness the Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, as he honored the team of female students from Umm Al-Qura University who created the miniature satellite “Ofuq”, and the winners of the “Sari” competition of the Saudi Space Agency, which confirms the support of the university and the leadership for Saudi women and their empowerment in the fields of advanced science and space.
