Waleed Al-Ahmad joins Al-Qadisiyah on a contract until 2029, coming from Al-Taawoun

Al-Qadisiyah FC of Saudi Arabia officially announced the completion of the signing of the solid defender Waleed Al-Ahmad, who joins from Al-Taawoun FC, on a long-term contract extending until 2029. This significant acquisition comes as part of the club's management's efforts to strengthen the first team's defense, and within a comprehensive strategy aimed at building a competitive and strong team capable of challenging the top teams in the Saudi Professional League in the coming seasons.

Waleed Al-Ahmad, 26, is considered one of the most prominent defenders to have recently caught the eye in the Saudi League. The player has delivered outstanding performances this season, not only fulfilling his defensive duties but also demonstrating a clear attacking flair. He has participated in 15 matches, scoring 4 goals – a high scoring rate for a center-back – making him a valuable tactical addition to the Al-Qadisiyah squad.

Returning to the player's professional career, Waleed Al-Ahmad's footballing development began within the walls of Al-Hilal Club, where he absorbed the fundamentals of the game at one of the continent's biggest clubs. Following this, he had a successful two-season stint with Al-Faisaly Club, during which he significantly honed his talent. He then moved to Al-Taawoun Club, where he played for "Al-Sukari" for three seasons, gaining extensive technical experience and footballing maturity through continuous competition in the Saudi Professional League.

On the international level, Al-Ahmad has a good record, as he previously represented the Saudi national team in the last Arab Cup tournament hosted by Qatar, during which he presented remarkable performances that contributed to highlighting him as one of the promising defensive names in Saudi football, which enhances the value of the deal for Al-Qadisiyah Club, which is looking for players who have an international personality.

This deal is particularly significant given the major transformations underway at Al-Qadisiyah FC, the historic club of Al-Khobar, especially after its acquisition by Saudi Aramco as part of the sports club investment and privatization project. This strategy aims to restore the club to its rightful place among the elite, not only through promotion and participation, but also through serious competition for titles, which necessitates attracting high-caliber local and international players.

Sports analysts believe that signing local players of Waleed Al-Ahmad's caliber is a cornerstone for the success of any sports project in the Kingdom, given the importance of local players in balancing the squad and meeting roster requirements in domestic and Asian competitions. Al-Ahmad's arrival is expected to provide a strong boost to Al-Qadisiyah's defense, giving the team the technical stability that Al-Qadisiyah fans, eager to see their team return to winning ways, crave.
