Judicial Intelligence Hackathon: Record Turnout and Date for Announcing Qualifiers

The Board of Grievances has achieved a new digital milestone with a record number of applicants participating in the " Judicial Intelligence Hackathon ," exceeding the target numbers midway through the registration period. This significant engagement reflects a broad technological movement and a growing awareness among national talent of the importance of contributing to the development of AI- to enhance the efficiency of administrative justice, amidst ongoing calls to increase participation before registration closes on January 20th.

The context of digital transformation and smart justice

This event is not isolated from the rapid developments taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030 , which prioritizes digital transformation. The Board of Grievances is a leading institution in adopting modern technologies, and through its digital strategy, it seeks to move from automating procedures to leveraging data and artificial intelligence to support judicial decision-making. These initiatives aim to reduce litigation time, improve the quality of judgments, and facilitate the user experience through integrated digital platforms, thus solidifying the concept of "expeditious justice" in its modern technological sense.

Precise standards and national outputs

The team overseeing the hackathon confirmed that the large influx of participating teams reflects a societal and scientific awareness of the importance of developing the judicial system. The Board of Grievances reiterated its invitation to experts, university students, and innovators to seize the remaining days to present their ideas, stipulating that teams consist of three to five members and be managed entirely by Saudis, to ensure high-quality national outputs that align with the specificities of the Saudi judicial system.

The ideas submitted through the digital portal are subject to precise and rigorous evaluation criteria, based primarily on the elements of innovation and actual feasibility, with the need to ensure sustainability and a direct creative impact on the judicial work system, away from traditional, worn-out solutions.

Crucial dates and a promising future

The organizers have set January 23, 2026, as the deadline for announcing the teams that will advance to the final stage, putting the contestants in a race against time to present their best technological and developmental solutions. Intensive virtual sessions are scheduled for January 28 to discuss the shortlisted projects, a step aimed at refining the ideas and connecting them to the actual needs of administrative courts and their support departments.

This initiative is a practical translation of the Board of Grievances’ strategy to adopt emerging technologies, in an effort to reach smart procedures that keep pace with the rapid development that the Kingdom is witnessing in all its sectors, and to be a model to be emulated in employing technology to serve justice.
