Hail weather: Warning of dense fog and zero visibility, and the week's forecast

The National Center for Meteorology issued an important alert this morning, warning of a dense fog that will reduce horizontal visibility to one kilometer or less. The alert covers the Hail region and its governorates, focusing particularly on open areas and highways connecting the region to neighboring governorates. The center indicated that this weather condition will persist until 9:00 AM today.
Saudi Arabia weather forecast for next week
In a related context, forecasts indicate that most regions will experience noticeable weather fluctuations during the coming week. These fluctuations will be primarily characterized by increased surface wind activity, stirring up dust and sand in some areas, as well as significant temperature variations, typical of the transitional periods between seasons. Light and scattered rainfall is also expected to continue in various parts of the Kingdom.
For his part, Aqeel Al-Aqeel, a weather analyst at the National Center for Meteorology, explained that the current weather conditions are an extension of climatic fluctuations that began affecting the region in recent days. Some areas have experienced rainfall ranging from light to moderate, accompanied by hail, particularly in the northeastern parts of Riyadh, parts of the Qassim region, east of Mecca, and the Eastern Province.
Traffic safety guidelines during fog
Given the hazardous driving conditions in foggy weather, especially on highways in the Hail region, drivers are advised to strictly adhere to public safety guidelines. These guidelines include reducing speed according to visibility, using fog lights or low beam headlights instead of high beams which can glare and reduce visibility due to reflections on water droplets. Experts also emphasize the importance of maintaining a safe following distance to avoid accidents caused by sudden stops, and avoiding the use of hazard lights except when completely stopped, to prevent confusing other drivers.
The geographical nature of the Hail region and its impact
Weather warnings in the Hail region are of particular importance due to its unique geography and topography. The region is surrounded by mountains, such as the Aja and Salma ranges, which contribute to the formation of cold air pockets that promote condensation and dense fog, especially during the early morning hours in winter and seasonal transitions. These weather phenomena directly impact transportation and movement, necessitating continuous monitoring of official weather forecasts to ensure the safety of lives and property.
