Half a million women benefit from the women's affairs services at the Grand Mosque

In an achievement reflecting the rapid development of services provided to pilgrims, the Women's Affairs Agency at the Grand Mosque announced a new record in the number of women benefiting from its religious and guidance services. The number of women reached 469,750 during January 2026, highlighting the significant efforts made to enhance the spiritual experience for women in the holiest place on earth.

An integrated service system to promote Sharia awareness

These figures are the culmination of tireless work within strategic plans aimed at meeting the religious and educational needs of female visitors. The services provided have been diverse, including:

  • Quranic study circles: to correct recitation and memorize the Book of God.
  • Scientific lessons: which deal with the jurisprudential and doctrinal rulings that are of interest to Muslim women.
  • Guidance and counseling services: through qualified female staff to answer inquiries and guide women within the corridors of the Haram.
  • Volunteer initiatives: which open the door for community participation in serving the guests of God.

Empowering women to serve the Two Holy Mosques

This achievement cannot be viewed in isolation from the broader context of the development taking place in the Hajj and Umrah sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In recent years, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030 , there has been a qualitative leap in empowering Saudi women to serve female pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques. Thousands of qualified women have been trained in Islamic law, administration, and language to ensure the provision of the highest quality services to female pilgrims in multiple languages and with the utmost professionalism, reflecting the bright image of Saudi women and their active role in development.

Spiritual impact and enhancing the guest experience

Providing a dedicated religious environment for women within the Grand Mosque directly contributes to fostering tranquility and peace of mind. The presence of female religious guides, designated prayer areas, and targeted services removes any obstacles that female visitors might encounter while performing their rituals, whether for Umrah or other prayers. This attention to detail aligns with the goals of the "Guests of God Service Program," which aims to facilitate the hosting of pilgrims and enrich their spiritual and cultural experience.

Ongoing leadership support for development

This development initiative enjoys the direct support and continuous empowerment of His Excellency the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais. The Presidency of Religious Affairs affirms its unwavering commitment to harnessing all available technical and human resources to ensure that the message of guidance and religious instruction reaches everyone, while adhering to the highest standards of quality and institutional excellence, so that the Grand Mosque remains a beacon of knowledge and guidance for all humanity.
