وأفادت وزارة الصحة والخدمات الإنسانية في ميشيجان أن الشخصين كانا يعانيان مشكلات صحية وربما تفاقمت حالتهما بسبب المرض المعوي والجفاف.
وأضافت أنها لن تقدم معلومات إضافية حول الوفيات.
داء سيكلوسبورا هو عدوى معوية يسببها طفيل مجهري يعرف باسم Cyclospora cayetanensis، وينتقل عبر تناول مياه أو منتجات زراعية طازجة ملوثة، ولا ينتقل مباشرة بين الأشخاص
