أبدى قائد القادسية السابق محمد الضلعان سعادته بفوز فريقه أمام الوصل الإماراتي في أولى مباريات دوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة بهدفين مقابل هدف، مؤكداً أن القادسية حقق الأهم وهو النقاط الثلاث.
وقال الضلعان في حديثه لـ«عكاظ»: إن فريقه القادسية ظهر بشكل مميز في أولى مواجهات الفريق بنخبة آسيا، ونطمح في المزيد خلال المباريات القادمة، ويجب أن يعرف جميع محبي القادسية أن هذه المباراة لا تعتبر مقياساً للفريق ككل، خصوصاً أنها أول مشاركة للفريق بعد سنوات طويلة، وسنشاهد المستوى في تصاعد في قادم الأيام.
وأضاف: بلا شك فخورون بما قدمه الفريق القدساوي في الظهور الأول أمام فريق الوصل الإماراتي الذي يعتبر فريقاً منظماً ولا يستهان به، وحاولوا كثيراً الوصول لمرمى القادسية لكن لاعبي القادسية استطاعوا إيقاف هجمات الوصل.
وقدم الضلعان في نهاية حديثه شكره لمجلس إدارة شركة نادي القادسية على تقديم الدعوة لنجوم جيل 1994 الذين حققوا بطولة كأس الكؤوس الآسيوية لحضور مباراة القادسية والوصل الإماراتي، مؤكداً أن هذه الدعوة كان لها الأثر الأكبر في نفوس اللاعبين الذين حققوا اللقب الآسيوي، متمنياً أن يستطيع الجيل الحالي تحقيق اللقب الآسيوي بمسماه الجديد.

At the end of his talk, Al-Dalhan expressed his gratitude to the Board of Directors of Al-Qadisiyah Club for inviting the stars of the 1994 generation who won the Asian Cup Winners’ Cup to attend the match between Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Wasl, confirming that this invitation had a significant impact on the players who achieved the Asian title, wishing that the current generation could achieve the Asian title in its new name.
