وبلغت سرعة رياح الإعصار حسب المركز الوطني للأعاصير 75 ميلًا في الساعة (120 كيلومترًا في الساعة)، ليصبح إعصارًا من الفئة الأولى.

انهيارات طينية

ويحذر خبراء الأرصاد الجوية من أن المرتفعات في الجزيرة ستشهد هطول أمطار غزيرة تصل معدلاتها إلى 25 بوصة (5ر63 سنتيمترًا)، قد تسبب انهيارات طينية تهدد حياة السكان في المناطق الجبلية.
