استهل ممثلو الوطن (القادسية، والاتحاد، والأهلي) مشوارهم في دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة بانتصار وتعادلين في الجولة الأولى للبطولة، إذ انتصر القادسية على ضيفه الوصل الإماراتي بهدفين مقابل هدف، فيما تعادل الاتحاد مع مستضيفه الشمال القطري بهدف لكل منهما، وبالنتيجة ذاتها تعادل الأهلي حامل اللقب مع ضيفه باختاكور الأوزبكي.
على استاد الأمير محمد بن فهد بالدمام، حقق القادسية فوزه التاريخي الأول في دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة بعد تفوقه على ضيفه الوصل الإماراتي بنتيجة 2-1، وشهد اللقاء سيطرة متبادلة بين الفريقين، وسنحت عدة فرص لفريق القادسية دون الاستفادة منها.
وفي الشوط الثاني تمكن بنو قادس من هز الشباك عن طريق جوليان كينيونيس بعد انطلاقة مثالية من البديل كريستوفر بونسو باه الذي لعب كرة عرضية عالية قفز لها كينيونيس من خلف المدافعين، ووضعها برأسه في المرمى هدفاً أول للقادسية (د:57).
وفي الوقت الذي حاول الوصل الإماراتي العودة للمباراة شن لاعبو القادسية هجمة مرتدة مثالية، وتمكن محمد أبو الشامات من اللحاق بالكرة ليلعبها أرضية لتصل للمهاجم ماتيو ريتيغي، ليسددها داخل المرمى هدفاً ثانياً للقادسية (د:61).
وفي الوقت بدل الضائع قلّص الوصل الإماراتي النتيجة عن طريق لياندرو سباداسيو (د:90+6).
وبهذه النتيجة يحقق القادسية فوزه الأول ويحصد النقاط الثلاث الأولى له في البطولة، فيما تلقى الوصل الإماراتي الخسارة الأولى وبقي دون نقاط.
وعلى استاد البيت بالعاصمة القطرية الدوحة، خطف الاتحاد نقطة ثمينة من مضيفه الشمال القطري بالتعادل بهدف لكل منهما، وبدأ الاتحاد اللقاء برغبة قوية للتقدم بالنتيجة وكاد ديون لوبي يقص شريط الأهداف بتسديدة قوية، لكن حارس الشمال بابكر سيك تمكن من إبعاد الكرة، ومن ثم تسديدة أخرى من أحمد الغامدي وتصدى لها سيك أيضاً، ورد الشمال بتسديدة للاعبه محمد علي بن رمضان ارتطمت بالعارضة، ومن ثم رأسية من وسلي سعيد وقفت العارضة أمامها أيضاً.
وفي الشوط الثاني تمكن الشمال القطري من مفاجأة الاتحاد بإحراز الهدف الأول بعد تسديدة من بغداد بونجاح، لكنها ارتطمت في المدافع مهند الشنقيطي ليتغير اتجاهها وتسكن الشباك (د:63).
وفي الوقت بدل الضائع، تمكن الاتحاد من إدراك التعادل بعد أن تلاعب بيرغوين بالمدافع جيسون موريللو، ومن ثم لعبها عرضية أرضية لابن جلدته الوافد الجديد جورجينيو فينالدوم الذي سددها مباشرة في المرمى هدف تعادل للاتحاد (د:90+4)، لينتهي اللقاء بالتعادل الإيجابي بهدف لكل منهما، وليحصد كل فريق نقطة واحدة.
وعلى استاد مدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية بجدة، دشّن حامل اللقب (الأهلي) مشواره بتعادل صعب مع ضيفه باختاكور الأوزبكي بهدف لكل منهما، وشهدت الدقائق الأخيرة من عمر المباراة إثارة وندية من الفريقين، إذ تمكن باختاكور من إحراز هدف التقدم عن فلاماريون (د:86)، وفي الوقت بدل الضائع أنقذ البديل فراس البريكان فريقه من الخسارة بعد أن تابع الكرة المرتدة من الحارس فلاديمير نازاروف ليسددها قوية في المرمى هدف تعادل للأهلي (د:90+3)، لينتهي اللقاء بالتعادل الإيجابي بهدف لكل منهما، وليحصد كل فريق نقطة واحدة.

The match witnessed mutual control between the two teams, and several opportunities arose for Al-Qadsiah, but they failed to capitalize on them.
In the second half, Al-Qadsiah managed to find the net through Julian Quinones after a perfect run from substitute Christopher Ponsou Bah, who delivered a high cross that Quinones jumped to head into the net, marking the first goal for Al-Qadsiah (D:57).
At a time when Al-Wasl attempted to return to the match, Al-Qadsiah’s players launched a perfect counterattack, and Mohamed Abu Al-Shamat managed to reach the ball and played it on the ground to striker Matteo Retegui, who shot it into the net for Al-Qadsiah’s second goal (D:61).
In stoppage time, Al-Wasl reduced the score through Leandro Spadacio (D:90+6).
With this result, Al-Qadsiah achieves their first victory and collects the first three points in the tournament, while Al-Wasl suffers their first loss and remains without points.
At Al-Bayt Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha, Al-Ittihad snatched a valuable point from their host, Al-Shamal, with a 1-1 draw. Al-Ittihad started the match with a strong desire to take the lead, and Dion Lopy nearly opened the scoring with a powerful shot, but Al-Shamal’s goalkeeper Babacar Syke managed to deflect the ball. In stoppage time, substitute Firas Al-Breikan saved his team from defeat after following up on a rebound from goalkeeper Vladimir Nazarov and powerfully shooting it into the net for Al-Ahli’s equalizer (D:90+3), ending the match in a positive draw with one goal each, allowing both teams to earn one point.
