وذكرت هيئة علوم الأرض الأسترالية (Geoscience Australia)، أن مركز الهزة وقع قرب منطقة Appin، جنوب غرب سيدني، وعلى عمق نحو 3 كيلومترات تحت سطح الأرض.
وشعر بالهزة سكان عدد من المناطق في جنوب غرب سيدني، من بينها Menangle وDouglas Park، فيما أفادت تقارير محلية باهتزاز عدد من المنازل.
ولم ترد على الفور أنباء عن وقوع ضحايا أو أضرار مادية جراء الهزة.
