يأتي هذا بعد ساعات قليلة من زلزال بقوة 7,7 درجة ضرب الدولة الواقعة في جنوب شرق آسيا.
ويقع مركز الزلزال في بيماتانغسيانتار على بعد حوالى 126 كيلومترا جنوب شرق عاصمة الجزيرة ميدان، ولم يصدر أي تحذير من حدوث تسونامي.
وأسفر الزلزال السابق الذي ضرب شرق البلاد صباح السبت، عن مقتل 38 شخصًا.
