وقال ترامب في منشور على منصته تروث سوشال: “يسرني أن أعلن أن الولايات المتحدة الأميركية أبرمت اتفاقا مع مملكة الدنمارك وغرينلاند، تمنح الولايات المتحدة سيطرة دائمة على الأمن وجميع الاحتياجات الأخرى في غرينلاند”.

أضاف: “من الآن فصاعدا، لن يكون باستطاعة أي خصم للولايات المتحدة إنشاء قاعدة في غرينلاند على الإطلاق، أو أن يكون له وجود عسكري فيها، أو القيام باستثمارات حساسة هناك، دون الحصول على موافقتنا الخطية الصريحة”.
