وكان المدرب الإسباني قد استهل مشواره مع تشيلسي بفوز صعب على فولهام بنتيجة 3-2 في الجولة الأولى من البريميرليغ، ثم فاز على لوتون تاون 2-0 في كأس كاراباو، قبل أن يحقق انتصاره الثالث مع «البلوز» على برايتون.

فرض تشيلسي هيمنته في الشوط الأول وسجل ثلاثة أهداف بتوقيع روميو لافيا وبيدرو نيتو وجواو بيدرو في الدقائق 4 و14 و32، قبل أن يقلص ماليك يالكوي الفارق لبرايتون في الدقيقة 35.
وفي الشوط الثاني، سجل مهاجم تشيلسي جواو بيدرو هدفاً بالخطاً في مرماه في الدقيقة 63 ليقلص برايتون الفارق إلى هدف، لكن كول بالمر أحرز الهدف الرابع لفريق المدرب تشابي ألونسو في الدقيقة 74.
وسجل باسكال غروس هدفاً لبرايتون في الدقيقة 90+6، لكن الوقت لم يُسعف الضيوف لمحاولة إدارك التعادل.

Alonso’s Third Win
The Spanish coach began his journey with Chelsea with a tough win over Fulham with a score of 3-2 in the first round of the Premier League, then won against Luton Town 2-0 in the Carabao Cup, before achieving his third victory with the “Blues” against Brighton.
Match Goals
Chelsea dominated the first half and scored three goals by Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto, and João Pedro in the 4th, 14th, and 32nd minutes, before Malik Yalcoui reduced the deficit for Brighton in the 35th minute.
In the second half, Chelsea’s striker João Pedro scored an own goal in the 63rd minute to narrow Brighton’s deficit to one goal, but Cole Palmer scored the fourth goal for coach Xabi Alonso’s team in the 74th minute.
Pascal Groß scored a goal for Brighton in the 90+6 minute, but time did not allow the guests to attempt to equalize.
