وأفادت أعلنت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية اليابانية بأن مركز الزلزال وقع على عمق 10 كيلومترات، فيما لم يتم إصدار أي تحذيرات من احتمال وقوع موجات مد عاتية (تسونامي) في أعقاب الهزة الأرضية.
