وجاءت الإثارة في الشوط الأول، بعدما افتتح جورج التسجيل لمصلحة الاتحاد عند الدقيقة 43، قبل أن يتمكن الفيحاء من إدراك التعادل في الدقيقة الخامسة من الوقت المحتسب بدلاً من الضائع عن طريق ريميسيرو، لينتهي الشوط الأول بالتعادل 1-1.
