سورية: مذكرتا التفاهم مع السعودية في الطرق والسكك الحديدية تعززان البنية التحتية
أكد وزير النقل السوري يعرب بدر أن مذكرتي التفاهم الموقعتين مع السعودية في مجالي الطرق والسكك الحديدية تمثلان خطوة مهمة لتعزيز الربط في البنية التحتية بين البلدين، بما يسهم في زيادة حركة الأشخاص والبضائع.
وأوضح بدر، في مقابلة مع «العربية Business»، أن مذكرتي التفاهم تتضمنان إطاراً زمنياً مدته 6 أشهر لتحديد نقاط الاتصال ووضع البرنامج التنفيذي للتعاون، فيما تمتد صلاحيتهما 5 سنوات، وتتجدد تلقائياً بموافقة الطرفين.
تطوير شبكات النقل
وأضاف أن دمشق تعوّل على التعاون مع السعودية في تطوير شبكات النقل وتعزيز حركة التجارة، بما يسهم في إنشاء ممر بري وسككي أكثر كفاءة يربط البلدين، ويدعم حركة البضائع بين أوروبا ودول الخليج العربي.
وكانت سورية والسعودية وقعتا، الخميس، مذكرتي تفاهم لتطوير السكك الحديدية والنقل البري، بهدف بناء القدرات وتبادل الخبرات وإجراء الدراسات اللازمة، بما يسهم في تأهيل الطرق والسكك الحديدية السورية وتنشيط حركة النقل والتبادل التجاري عبر سورية.
The Syrian Minister of Transport, Ya’rab Badr, confirmed that the two memoranda of understanding signed with Saudi Arabia in the fields of roads and railways represent an important step to enhance infrastructure connectivity between the two countries, contributing to increased movement of people and goods.
Badr explained, in an interview with “Al Arabiya Business,” that the memoranda of understanding include a six-month timeframe to identify points of contact and establish an executive program for cooperation, while their validity extends for five years and is automatically renewed with the agreement of both parties.
Developing Transport Networks
He added that Damascus relies on cooperation with Saudi Arabia to develop transport networks and enhance trade movement, contributing to the establishment of a more efficient land and rail corridor linking the two countries, and supporting the movement of goods between Europe and the Gulf States.
Syria and Saudi Arabia signed, on Thursday, memoranda of understanding to develop railways and land transport, aiming to build capacities, exchange expertise, and conduct necessary studies, contributing to the rehabilitation of Syrian roads and railways and revitalizing transport and trade exchange through Syria.
