وأفادت هيئة عمليات التجارة البحرية البريطانية اليوم أنها تلقت بلاغًا عن هذا الاستهداف الذي ألحق أضرارًا بغرفة المحركات وأسفر عن سقوط أحد أفراد الطاقم، مبينةً أن بقية أفراد الطاقم يتلقون المساعدة من خفر السواحل العُماني.
وأوضحت الهيئة بعدم الإبلاغ عن أي أثر بيئي جراء الواقعة، فيما تواصل السلطات التحقيق.
