وقال هيغسيث أمام عسكريين في قاعدة كوانتيكو: «يقول المختصون بالأرقام إننا سرّحنا 10 بالمئة من الجنرالات والأدميرالات في مختلف فروع القوات المسلحة»، وأضاف: «لقد قلّصنا أيضًا العدد الإجمالي للمناصب المخصصة للضباط من رتبة جنرال بنسبة إضافية تبلغ 10 بالمئة»، موضحًا أن النسبة الإجمالية بلغت 20 بالمئة.
