Attempt to smuggle 400,000 amphetamine pills thwarted at Al-Haditha Customs
ZATCA spokesman Hamoud Al-Harbi explained that when one of the trucks was subjected to customs procedures and was inspected using security technologies and live means, that quantity of narcotic pills was found hidden in the cavity of the truck’s spare tires.
Court oversight
The official spokesperson affirmed that the Authority, through all its customs ports, is committed to tightening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports and is vigilant against smuggling attempts. This is in line with one of the key pillars of its strategy: enhancing the security and protection of society by curbing attempts to smuggle such illicit goods and other prohibited items, in coordination and cooperation with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
Al-Harbi called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy by contacting the Authority through the dedicated security reporting number (1910), via email ([email protected]), or the international number (009661910). The Authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law through these channels with complete confidentiality, and offers a financial reward to the informant if the information in the report is accurate.
