The branch Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture In the Makkah region, represented by the Department of Non-Profit Sector Organizations, in the presence of the Assistant Director General for Technical Affairs, Engineer Hassan bin Ibrahim Al-Mu'idi, and the Assistant Director General for Support and Empowerment, Engineer Hani bin Hamoud Al-Maimouni, and with the participation of the branch Agricultural Development Fund In the region, a specialized workshop was presented entitled “Supporting and Empowering Cooperative Societies in the Makkah Region”.
The initiative targeted agricultural associations, farmers, specialists, and those interested in agricultural affairs in the region, as part of the branch's efforts to enhance the role of associations in development agricultural sector And achieving sustainability.
The workshop aimed to enhance the efficiency of agricultural production and enable associations to perform their developmental role, by reviewing supporting initiatives and programs, discussing the challenges they face, highlighting the role of the Agricultural Development Fund in supporting associations and enhancing their capabilities, and emphasizing the importance of these associations in supporting small farmers and achieving sustainability.
It also focused on enabling associations to benefit from available support tools, enhancing their role in agricultural value chains and marketing, encouraging integration and exchange of experiences among them, and opening the door to dialogue with participants to benefit from their opinions and suggestions in a way that contributes to the development of the agricultural sector and enhances its contribution to achieving development goals.
