With the participation of 719,000 students, the Ministry of Education concludes the "Learning Through Play" competition and honors the winners

The “Learning Through Play” competition concluded today, Friday, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Safi Electronic Games Group, Minister education Youssef Al-Bunyan.
This competition is the result of integration between the education sector and the gaming industry, with the aim of building a generation that possesses the skills of the future in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The leadership's interest in the education sector

The Ministry of Education affirmed that this initiative embodies the wise leadership's commitment to empowering students and developing their capabilities in the fields of technology and innovation. Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, Deputy Minister of Education for General Education, noted that education has become a space for creativity, skills development, and transforming ideas into promising opportunities.
The Ministry revealed that the first edition witnessed exceptional engagement, with the participation of over 719,000 middle and high school students, and the submission of more than 155,000 creative ideas for educational video games.

The Ministry of Education stated that the ceremony honored the winning team, which will have the opportunity to have its idea developed into an interactive game by professional game developers in partnership with the Roblox platform.
The Ministry also indicated that it provides students with tools and resources to support game creation, thus contributing to the development of national talent in this growing digital sector.

The Ministry of Education explained that the competition is part of its efforts to support the development of esports and integrate game-based learning tools into educational curricula, in coordination with the National Center for Curricula. The Ministry also indicated that work is underway to include these games on the "My School" platform and to support entrepreneurship and training, in line with the national strategy for esports.
