177 buses and 15 routes... City buses are an integrated system to serve pilgrims
The project operates through a fleet of (177) buses serving (15) main routes, in addition to (455) main and secondary stops distributed across a number of neighborhoods and vital locations, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency of connectivity between different destinations within Madinah, and facilitating access for pilgrims and visitors to religious and service sites.

City buses
cover The buses several routes connecting neighborhoods and key facilities to the Prophet's Mosque, including routes linking Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport to the central area, the Haramain High-Speed Railway station at the Miqat, as well as routes leading to Quba Mosque, Jabal Ayr, Al-Aqul neighborhood, Al-Uyun Oasis, industrial cities, and numerous residential areas in Madinah.
Route 400, leading to Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, operates 24 hours a day to serve those wishing to travel to and from the Prophet's Mosque and the central area. Buses also operate around the clock to transport pilgrims and visitors to and from the Prophet's Mosque and Quba Mosque, contributing to increased efficiency and ease of movement during the Hajj season.
Smooth traffic flow
These routes contribute to smoother traffic flow and reduced congestion on roads surrounding the central area, while also helping to lower environmental pollution from vehicle emissions. This is achieved by providing public transportation options that reduce reliance on private vehicles and support environmental sustainability and quality of life. The
Madinah Region Development Authority, through its "Madinah Buses" project, is working to develop the public transportation network and improve connectivity between vital locations. This is accomplished through an operational system that expands routes and enhances the user experience, thus providing safe and accessible transportation for the city's residents and visitors.
These efforts are part of the comprehensive services provided during the Hajj season, reflecting the integrated efforts of relevant authorities to serve pilgrims and supporting the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to develop transportation services, improve quality of life, and enhance the experience of pilgrims and visitors in Madinah.
