Asian Football Confederation president praises Qatar and congratulates Morocco on winning the Arab Cup
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation, praised Qatar's outstanding success in hosting the Arab Cup, noting that the organization met the highest international standards of quality that Doha has accustomed the world to. He emphasized that this excellence was not a coincidence, but rather the result of advanced sports infrastructure and the accumulated expertise of Qatari personnel, which contributed to a tournament presented in a distinguished manner that reinforces Qatar's position as a global sports capital and a preferred destination for major football events.
In a press statement yesterday evening, Sheikh Salman, who also serves as First Vice President of FIFA, explained that the success of this edition reflects the depth of the strategic partnership and fruitful cooperation between FIFA and the continental and national federations. He addressed the broader importance of these tournaments, emphasizing that the resurgence of Arab competitions directly contributes to raising the technical level of national teams, developing young talent, and instilling the values of sportsmanship, in addition to serving as an important preparatory stage for upcoming continental and international competitions.
Regarding the competition, the AFC President extended his congratulations to the Moroccan national team, who deservedly won the title after their thrilling 3-2 victory over Jordan in the final. Sheikh Salman noted that this achievement reflects the tremendous progress Moroccan football has made, which would not have been possible without systematic work and continuous investment in sports academies and the development of national teams.
