Al-Ahsa Education Achievements: Governor Honors Winners of International Awards

The Governor of Al-Ahsa supports the education process and honors outstanding individuals

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, received at the Governorate headquarters the Director General of Education in Al-Ahsa, Tawashi Al-Kinani, accompanied by a number of educational leaders and school principals. This meeting comes within the framework of the wise leadership's keenness to support the educational process and enhance its achievements, in line with the comprehensive development that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing in all sectors.

Strategic context: Education and Saudi Vision 2030

Al-Ahsa Governorate is one of the oldest regions in Saudi Arabia, historically deeply committed to science and knowledge. In the modern era, and in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, investment in human capital has become a cornerstone of sustainable development. His Highness the Governor of Al-Ahsa praised the generous support the education sector receives from the wise leadership – may God protect them – emphasizing that building future generations and developing their skills is a top priority to ensure a bright future for the Kingdom. He also commended the collaborative efforts of educational leaders, teachers, and educators.

Al-Ahsa Education Achievements: Record-Breaking Figures and International Awards

The meeting featured a comprehensive visual presentation entitled "Achievements and Aspirations," which highlighted the exceptional successes achieved by the Al-Ahsa Education Department. Locally, the department achieved a 100% success rate among all education departments in the Kingdom for student attendance and absence monitoring during the holy month of Ramadan. Furthermore, students from the province achieved third place nationally in science and fourth place in mathematics.

The achievements were not limited to the local level but extended to international forums, reflecting the quality of educational outcomes and the ability of Saudi students to compete globally. A total of 2,296 students were identified who passed the Mawhiba assessment, and students won 15 medals in the KAUST Mathematics Competition. Six students were also nominated to represent the Kingdom internationally in the Ibdaa 2026 competition. In a significant international achievement, students won 135 medals in the Bebras Informatics Competition, in addition to winning five prestigious awards at the Seoul International Invention Fair, further solidifying the Kingdom's position in the fields of innovation and technology.

Infrastructure development and school projects

To ensure the sustainability of these successes, the Ministry of Education is working to provide an attractive and advanced school environment. The presentation included the unveiling of vital projects, such as the commencement of construction on two sports halls with a capacity of 900 female students, and the creation of six grass playing fields serving 1,524 students. Additionally, three new school building projects are underway, with a total capacity of 1,800 students. Furthermore, contracts have been signed for seven new school projects that will accommodate 4,080 students, while emergency maintenance work continues, including the renovation of 32 school buildings, and work is ongoing to renovate another 18.

A well-deserved honor and an incentive for the future

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director General of Education expressed his profound gratitude to the wise leadership and to His Highness the Governor of Al-Ahsa for their diligent follow-up, which resulted in these achievements during the 1447 AH academic year. In recognition of these efforts, His Highness the Governor honored the schools, teachers, and students who won local and international awards, acknowledging their excellence and significant contributions to raising the profile of Al-Ahsa Governorate and the Kingdom in various educational and scientific forums.
