Al-Burhan congratulates the Saudi leadership on the anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom

Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan, sent congratulatory messages to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which falls on the twenty-second of February every year.

In his message, Burhan expressed his sincerest congratulations and best wishes to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, on this cherished national occasion, which embodies the depth of history and the firm foundations of the Saudi state. The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council commended the Kingdom's comprehensive civilizational renaissance and unprecedented developmental achievements across various fields, which have placed it among the ranks of developed nations. He emphasized that these successes reflect the insightful vision of the Saudi leadership and its commitment to the well-being of its citizens and the prosperity of the entire region.

In the context of bilateral relations, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan affirmed Sudan's unwavering commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He noted that relations between Khartoum and Riyadh are characterized by their special nature and historical depth, as the two countries share a common destiny and a strategic geographical proximity across the Red Sea, in addition to the social and cultural ties that unite the two brotherly peoples.

This congratulatory message takes on particular significance given the current circumstances in the region, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in supporting regional stability and peace. Founding Day is an occasion to commemorate the history of the first Saudi state, established by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727 CE. This event differs from National Day, as Founding Day focuses on the historical and cultural depth spanning more than three centuries, highlighting the Kingdom's authentic Arab and Islamic identity.

Al-Burhan also expressed his appreciation for Saudi Arabia's supportive stances towards Sudan in various international and regional forums, praising the Kingdom's humanitarian and diplomatic efforts to support Sudan's stability and territorial integrity. The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council concluded his message by praying for the Kingdom's continued progress and prosperity, and for the brotherly Saudi people to enjoy further prosperity and security under their wise leadership, expressing his aspiration to advance bilateral cooperation to broader horizons that serve the interests of both countries and the Arab and Islamic world.
