Al-Fayhaa defeats Al-Najma 3-0 in the Roshan League: A historic negative record

Al-Fayha's first football team achieved a resounding and well-deserved victory over their guest, Al-Najma, with a score of three goals to nil, in the match that brought them together this evening at Al-Majma'ah Sports City Stadium, as part of the twenty-first round of the Saudi Professional League competition for the current season.

The match saw clear dominance from the home side, Al-Fayha, who capitalized on their early attacking superiority. Zambian star Fashion Sakala opened the scoring in the 17th minute, converting a decisive pass from his teammate Rakan Kaabi. Al-Fayha continued their attacking pressure, with Sabri Dahal adding a second goal in the 39th minute after a well-executed pass from Jason. Jason then completed the scoring himself in the 57th minute, receiving a return pass from Sakala.

A historic negative record for the star

Al-Najma's loss wasn't just a minor setback in their league campaign; it also set an unprecedented negative record in the history of the Saudi Professional League. With this defeat, Al-Najma completed 20 consecutive matches without a win in their debut league appearance, the worst record for any team in the competition's history in terms of the delay in achieving their first victory.

With this number, Al-Najma surpassed the previous negative record held by Al-Wahda Club, which played 19 matches without a win in the 2012-2013 season, as well as Al-Ansar Club, which suffered in the season before it from a series of matches without a win that extended to 17 matches, which puts the team under enormous psychological and technical pressure in the remaining rounds.

Individual brilliance and remarkable statistics

On an individual level, Zambian Fashion Sakala established himself as the star of the match, scoring one goal and assisting another, bringing his tally to seven goals and topping Al-Fayha's scoring charts. The match also saw a stellar performance from young player Sabri Dahal, who scored his second league goal, becoming the youngest goalscorer of the current season, equaling the number of goals scored by prominent names such as English defender Chris Smalling, Congolese player Silver Ganvoula, and Alfa Semedo.

With this valuable victory, Al-Fayha raised its tally to 23 points, achieving its sixth win this season and recording its biggest goal difference in its matches, while Al-Najma's tally remained frozen at only 5 points at the bottom of the standings after suffering its fifteenth loss, which complicates its position in the struggle to remain.
