The Al-Madi 24 tournament kicks off in Jeddah with the participation of Mohammed Noor and 40 teams

Football fans in Jeddah will be glued to their screens this Thursday evening as the 24th edition of the Al-Madi Football Championship kicks off at Al-Taawon Stadium. This highly anticipated and popular sporting event will feature a fiery opening match at 9:30 PM, where Al-Ittihad legend and former international player Mohammed Noor will lead his Noor Academy team against defending champions Prince of the Two Holy Mosques.

The opening match holds special significance beyond simply marking the start of the tournament; it represents a repeat of last year's final, where the "Prince of the Two Holy Mosques" team snatched the cup from Mohammed Noor's teammates. Tonight, the Academy team seeks revenge and aims to demonstrate its readiness to compete early for the Captain Ziyad Al-Harbi Cup in this year's tournament, which boasts an unprecedentedly wide participation of 40 elite neighborhood and amateur teams.

The presence of the popular star Mohammed Noor is a crucial element in generating significant media and public interest in the tournament. Since retiring from professional football, "The Tenth Power" has remained a major supporter of community football and neighborhood tournaments in the Kingdom, which are considered the primary source of players for clubs and national teams. Jeddah is historically known as a stronghold for this type of tournament, characterized by its professional organization and fan attendance that sometimes rivals that of professional league matches, reflecting the great passion for football among the Saudi sports community.

Regarding the organization, the head of the tournament's organizing committee, Professor Abdulaziz Ahmed Hussein, affirmed that the 24th edition would be unlike its predecessors, noting that the committee had worked tirelessly to ensure the event reflected the high standards of sports in the region. He explained that the intense competition expected among the forty participating teams reflects the rising level of amateur teams across the country, wishing everyone success and emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship.

The stands at Al-Taawoun Stadium are expected to be packed with prominent sports figures, media personalities, and social media influencers, in addition to the large crowds accustomed to watching Mohammed Noor's dazzling skills. These tournaments play a vital social and sporting role in harnessing the energy of young people and providing a healthy competitive environment, in line with the comprehensive sporting development taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across all sectors.
