His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a delegation representing Quran memorization societies in the Kingdom. The delegation honored the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for his continuous support and patronage of these societies for over six decades. During the reception, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, accepted commemorative gifts presented on this occasion. These included a distinguished shield, a handwritten copy of the Quran, and a plaque commemorating King Salman's completion of memorizing the Holy Quran at the age of ten. Also presented was a plaque representing the beneficiaries of the Maknoon Society in Riyadh, whose number exceeds 21,000.

Historical support spanning six decades

This recognition reflects a long history of giving that began with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, when he was the Governor of Riyadh. He gave special attention to supporting and sponsoring Quran memorization circles. This support has evolved into an institutional approach for the Kingdom, which is considered a leader in the Islamic world in serving the Book of God through teaching, dissemination, and printing. Quran memorization societies are widespread throughout the Kingdom, providing services to millions of male and female students of all ages, contributing to the upbringing of a generation connected to the Holy Quran and its tolerant values.

Societal importance and profound impact

The role of Quran memorization societies extends beyond teaching memorization and recitation; it also encompasses instilling Islamic ethics, promoting the values of moderation and balance, and strengthening the Arabic language skills of young people. These societies are considered among the most important pillars of the non-profit sector in the Kingdom, contributing effectively to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 related to human capital development and the strengthening of national and Islamic identity. Continued leadership support for these societies ensures the sustainability of their positive impact on individuals and society, protects youth from extremist ideologies, and directs their energies toward what benefits their religion and their nation.

The impact extends to both regional and international levels

The Kingdom's pioneering role in supporting Quranic education extends beyond its borders to encompass the entire Muslim world. Through initiatives such as the King Salman bin Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, and the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran, which distributes millions of copies of the Quran and its translations annually, the Kingdom reaffirms its position as the beating heart of the Islamic world. This recognition is a testament to the efforts of a leadership dedicated to serving Islam and Muslims, further strengthening the Kingdom's religious and leadership standing on the international stage.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince expressed his thanks and appreciation to all those in charge of the Holy Quran memorization societies in the Kingdom for their qualitative initiatives and continuous efforts, praising their active role in serving the Book of God and their integration with the wise leadership’s efforts to consolidate the Kingdom’s pioneering position in serving Islam and Muslims around the world.
