During the call, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s firm and principled stance of respecting the sovereignty of nations, emphasizing unequivocally that the Kingdom will not permit the use of its airspace or territory to carry out any military actions or attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran, regardless of who is behind such attacks. In the context of expanding the background of this event, this communication is an extension of the path of de-escalation and restoration of diplomatic relations between Riyadh and Tehran, which was launched under the agreement sponsored by China in March 2023. This agreement resulted in the return of ambassadors and the resumption of cooperation in multiple fields, as the Kingdom seeks, through these diplomatic moves, to strengthen the pillars of stability in the region in a way that serves its ambitious development vision (Vision 2030), which requires a safe and stable regional environment far from geopolitical tensions.
During the call, the Iranian president also addressed the latest developments within Iran, outlining his government's efforts to address current challenges, in addition to discussing the progress of negotiations concerning the Iranian nuclear program. In this regard, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince reiterated the Kingdom's support for all efforts aimed at resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, emphasizing that security and stability are the strategic imperative for the countries and peoples of the region.
For his part, President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership for this clear and supportive stance regarding Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
