Crown Prince and Modi discuss military escalation and regional security

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a telephone call today from the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. During the call, they reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and discussed the latest developments and events in the region.
The conversation during the call focused on the dangerous military escalation in the region that threatens regional and international security and stability, with both sides stressing the need to make every possible effort to contain the situation and spare the region the dangers of wars and conflicts that could affect global peace.
Indian solidarity with the Kingdom
In a related context, the Indian Prime Minister, during the call, expressed his country's categorical rejection of the threats and attacks against the Kingdom, affirming India's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its government, and its people. Modi also strongly condemned any actions aimed at destabilizing the Kingdom's security or threatening its territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens, noting that the Kingdom's security is an integral part of the stability of the entire region.
The depth of Saudi-Indian relations
These discussions take place within the framework of the historical and strategic relations between Riyadh and New Delhi, which have witnessed a qualitative leap in recent years, particularly after the establishment of the Saudi-Indian Strategic Partnership Council. Saudi Arabia is India's fourth largest trading partner, and India is a key economic partner for the Kingdom. The Kingdom's Vision 2030 aligns with India's development aspirations, opening up broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, technology, and infrastructure.
The importance of joint coordination
This connection is of paramount importance given the political and economic weight both countries carry on the international stage. Saudi Arabia, as a leader of the Islamic world and a global energy power, and India, as a rising economic power and an active member of the G20, play a pivotal role in shaping regional balances. Observers emphasize that ongoing coordination between the two leaderships directly contributes to strengthening counterterrorism efforts and ensuring the security of waterways and global energy supplies, which in turn positively impacts global economic stability amidst current tensions.
