His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - received a written message from Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, relating to the strong bilateral relations that bind the two brotherly countries and ways to support and strengthen them in various fields.

The message was received by His Excellency Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his meeting today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh with His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.

Exploring ways to enhance joint cooperation

During the meeting, bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Republic of Tanzania were reviewed, and ways to strengthen and develop them to serve the common interests of the two friendly nations and their peoples were discussed. The two sides also addressed a number of issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of continued diplomatic coordination and consultation.

Strategic dimensions of Saudi-African relations

This message comes within the context of the active diplomatic efforts underway in Saudi-African relations, as the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – places great importance on deepening partnerships with African nations. Tanzania, with its strategic location in East Africa, is a key partner for the Kingdom, and both countries seek to capitalize on the promising opportunities offered by Saudi Vision 2030 and Tanzanian development plans.

Promising economic and political prospects

Relations between Riyadh and Dodoma are witnessing remarkable development, particularly following the outcomes of the recent Saudi-African Summit held in Riyadh, which laid the foundation for a new phase of economic and investment cooperation. Both sides are focusing on strengthening cooperation in vital sectors such as energy, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure. Tanzania is viewed as a key gateway for trade in East Africa, while the Kingdom represents a significant global economic and political force that contributes to supporting the stability and development of the region.

The exchange of messages and visits between officials in the two countries reflects a sincere desire to push relations towards broader horizons, which will enhance regional and international security and peace, and achieve economic prosperity for both sides.
