Tabuk rains today: floods, hail, and Saudi Arabia weather forecast

The Tabuk region experienced unstable weather conditions today, with light to moderate and heavy rainfall across various parts of the area, creating a distinctly wintry atmosphere that was welcomed by residents. Lighter rain was concentrated in the southern parts of the Tabuk region, while the Al-Asafiyah area witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by heavy hail. This also affected the Abayt area in the Tayma governorate, leading to the flow of some wadis.

In a related development, the rainy weather extended to Al Wajh Governorate, where light to moderate rainfall fell on several of its districts, including Al Manjur, Al Nabaa, As Sadid, and Al Fara'a. This rainfall comes at a time when the northern and northwestern regions of the Kingdom are experiencing typical weather fluctuations for this time of year. These rains contribute to irrigating the land and increasing water reserves, in addition to their positive impact on vegetation in desert and arid areas.

Saudi Arabia weather forecast and the National Center for Meteorology

For its part, the National Center for Meteorology issued its daily report on the expected weather conditions in the Kingdom, warning of continued chances of thunderstorms. The center explained that forecasts indicate moderate to heavy thunderstorms that may lead to flash floods, accompanied by hail and active winds stirring up dust and sand in parts of the Madinah, Qassim, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and Northern Borders regions.

The report indicated that the weather system would extend to the northern parts of the Eastern Province, while the chance of light rain remained for parts of the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom. This weather pattern is part of the climatic system that affects the Kingdom during seasonal transitions, which typically requires continuous monitoring of weather forecasts.

The importance of exercising caution during weather fluctuations

In these rainy conditions, relevant authorities, primarily the Civil Defense, typically issue warnings to citizens and residents, urging them to exercise caution. It is always advised to stay away from floodplains, valleys, and low-lying areas during heavy rainfall, and not to attempt to cross valleys, no matter how low the water level may seem. Drivers should also be aware of reduced visibility due to fog or heavy rain, and avoid high speeds to prevent skidding on wet roads and hail.
