
In response to Trump, Japan and Australia refuse to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz
Japan said on Monday it has no plans to launch a maritime security operation after US President Donald Trump allies and China to send warships to help protect oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz .
Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi told parliament, "Given the current situation in Iran, we do not intend to launch a maritime security operation."
Australia refuses
Australia's transport minister said on Monday that her country would not send a warship to the Strait of Hormuz.
Catherine King told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC): "We will not be sending a ship to the Strait of Hormuz. We know how important that is, but it is not something we have been asked to do and it is not something we are contributing to.
"
