This pioneering technological initiative seeks to facilitate the movement of pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors, ensuring their easy and convenient access to their destinations, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to harnessing technology to serve Muslims from around the world.

Throughout history, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has placed great importance on expanding and developing the Two Holy Mosques to ensure the comfort of pilgrims. With the rapid technological advancements the world is witnessing, guidance and direction efforts have shifted from relying on traditional signage to adopting the latest digital technologies. These interactive maps represent the culmination of a long journey of digital transformation in crowd management, where technology has become an essential tool for organizing the movement of millions of people in specific geographical areas, especially during peak seasons such as the holy month of Ramadan and the Hajj season.

These maps provide a direct and accurate link between the holy sites and the routes leading to the Grand Mosque, as well as surrounding hotels and facilities. This connection enhances the visitor experience and significantly reduces the challenges associated with transportation and congestion. The authority explained that the initiative includes user-friendly and responsive interfaces, enabling users to access information efficiently.

In addition, the maps include the ability to find out the locations of scientific lessons, Quran memorization circles, and the locations of fatwa and guidance offices, which enriches the visitor’s experience from both religious and intellectual perspectives.

Integrated digital services and global impact

To ensure a comprehensive experience, the authority reported including vital and up-to-date information within the maps, including:

  • Weather updates in the holy sites.
  • Occupancy conditions in prayer areas and areas for circumambulation and walking between Safa and Marwa.
  • Locations of restrooms and service facilities.

This real-time data contributes to organizing the movement and distributing human densities in a flexible and safe manner, which positively impacts the safety and comfort of the pilgrims coming from different countries around the world.

Integration with the “Nusk” platform and the objectives of Vision 2030

The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques indicated that this service will be fully integrated into the “Nusk”, enhancing the integration of digital services and elevating their quality to the highest international standards. This initiative comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s efforts to provide a comprehensive and convenient experience, and is fully aligned with the “Guests of God Service Program,” one of the most important programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to bring about a qualitative leap in the Hajj and Umrah sector, facilitating the hosting of millions of Muslims and providing them with the best services from the moment they arrive until their safe departure.
