وأوضح مركز رصد الزلازل الأوروبي المتوسطي، أن الزلزال سُجِّل في الساعة 21:55 بتوقيت جرينتش، ووقع على بعد 106 كيلومترات جنوب غرب مدينة سانتا كروز، وعلى عمق 10 كيلومترات.
ولم ترد على الفور تقارير عن خسائر مادية أو بشرية جراء الزلزال.
