The Minister of Interior inaugurates the Digital Center for Security Operations in Jeddah

His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Minister of Interior, inaugurated the Digital Center of the National Center for Security Operations at the Ministry of Interior headquarters in Jeddah. This inauguration comes as part of ongoing efforts to develop the security system and enhance readiness to deal with various events and developments on the ground.

General context and digital transformation of the Ministry of Interior

The security sector in Saudi Arabia is undergoing a rapid digital transformation in line with global technological advancements and the goals of the National Transformation Program. The National Security Operations Center (911) is one of the most prominent strategic projects launched by the Ministry of Interior to unify operations rooms across the Kingdom. Historically, Saudi Arabia has sought to standardize emergency numbers to facilitate quick and efficient access to security services for citizens, residents, and visitors. The new digital center in Jeddah represents an extension of this ambitious national project, utilizing the latest advanced technologies to enhance operational capabilities and response times.

Digital Center Tasks and Emergency Reporting Handling

During the inauguration, His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior listened to a detailed explanation from the Commander of the National Center for Security Operations, Brigadier General Omar bin Ayda Al-Talhi, regarding the digital center's tasks and its pivotal role within the National Center for Security Operations' strategic plan. Brigadier General Al-Talhi explained that the center supports the receipt and processing of emergency reports and field follow-up in the Makkah region. The operational and technological capabilities it provides directly contribute to enhancing the speed of response to emergencies and improving the efficiency of handling them through support, coordination, and information exchange among all relevant entities, thus enhancing the quality of security services provided.

Serving the pilgrims and the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030

One of the most distinctive features of the Digital Security Operations Center is its dedicated space for serving pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques. The center is equipped with advanced technological systems and staffed with multilingual translators to ensure rapid response to reports from pilgrims and Umrah performers and to address their urgent needs. Providing this comprehensive security umbrella guarantees that pilgrims can perform their rituals and acts of worship with peace of mind and ease. This approach aligns perfectly with the Guests of God Service Program, one of the key programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enrich the religious and cultural experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers and provide them with the highest levels of safety and security.

Strategic importance and raising the efficiency of security performance

At the local and regional levels, this center represents a significant step forward in crisis and emergency management, reflecting the Kingdom's leadership in leveraging technology for security purposes. His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior reviewed the performance indicators and heat maps that contribute to supporting strategic security decision-making. He also reviewed the center's operational procedures within an integrated system designed to enhance performance efficiency and strengthen cooperation among relevant entities, thus ensuring the sustainability of security and stability.
