A magnificent Islamic monument with a rich history
This visit was more than just a casual tour; it was a journey into the heart of modern history dedicated to serving the Holy Quran. The King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran, inaugurated in 1405 AH (1984 CE), is the world's largest printing press for the Quran. The complex stands as a testament to the Kingdom's longstanding commitment to preserving the Book of God, producing millions of copies annually that are distributed to Muslims worldwide. In addition, it publishes translations of the meanings of the Holy Quran in more than 70 languages, making it a global beacon of religious and cultural influence.
A tour through the corridors of divine providence
The youth delegation began their tour by watching a documentary showcasing the complex's history and its noble mission, highlighting the unwavering support it receives from the wise leadership to ensure the Holy Quran reaches Muslims worldwide in its most beautiful form and with the utmost precision. The young people then toured the halls of this grand Islamic institution, gaining firsthand insight into the meticulous stages of Quran printing, which are subject to rigorous quality control and leave no room for error, from the calligraphers' initial writing to printing, binding, and final review.
The importance of the visit and its cultural dimensions
This visit carries profound implications that go beyond mere observation; it aims to:
- Strengthening belonging: Connecting Muslim youth of different nationalities to the birthplace of revelation and the efforts made to serve their holy sites.
- Correcting misconceptions: The delegation was briefed on the translations department and the projects for translating the meanings of the Holy Qur’an, which are a fundamental pillar in conveying the tolerant message of Islam based on moderation and balance, and correcting misconceptions about the Islamic religion.
- Highlighting soft power: Demonstrating the scale of institutional and technical work that the Kingdom dedicates to serving the causes of Muslims, thus enhancing its position as the beating heart of the Islamic world.
Global fascination with Saudi technologies
The delegation concluded its visit with a comprehensive understanding of the immense work undertaken by the Kingdom, expressing their amazement at the advanced technologies and meticulous attention to detail in printing the Holy Quran. These achievements are the result of close monitoring by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, and General Supervisor of the Complex, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh, who is committed to utilizing all available resources to serve the Book of God, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of enriching the experience of visitors, pilgrims, and guests of God.
