Industrial facilities in Jazan: Qualitative capabilities that support Vision 2030
In a move reflecting the government's growing interest in developing non-oil sectors, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, Engineer Khalil bin Salma, conducted an inspection tour of several industrial facilities in the Jazan region. During the tour, he reviewed the operational processes and advanced production capacities of these factories, emphasizing their crucial role in supporting industrial development in the Kingdom.
General context: Jazan as a strategic industrial base
This tour comes at a time when the Jazan region is undergoing a major economic transformation, driven by mega-projects, most notably the Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries (JCPDI), which represents a cornerstone of the national development strategy. Thanks to its strategic location on the Red Sea coast and its proximity to global trade routes, Jazan has become an attractive destination for industrial and logistical investments. This transformation is not a coincidence, but rather the result of long-term planning aimed at diversifying national income sources and developing promising regions, in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The importance of the event and its expected impact
Engineer Bin Salma affirmed that industrial facilities in Jazan possess high-quality production capabilities and modern technologies, enabling them to contribute effectively to achieving the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy. He explained that these capabilities not only serve the region but also contribute directly to increasing the volume of Saudi non-oil exports, a key objective of Vision 2030. Locally, this industrial growth is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities for the region's residents and enhance local content through the development of integrated supply chains.
At the regional and international levels, strengthening the industrial base in Jazan solidifies the Kingdom's position as a key player in downstream and petrochemical industries, and enhances its ability to meet the growing demand in African and Asian markets. Bin Salma's visit included reviewing the factories' future expansion plans and discussing the challenges facing investors, reflecting the Ministry's approach of direct communication to provide support and overcome obstacles.
Continued government support for the industrial sector
This visit is part of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources' ongoing efforts to stimulate industrial investments across the Kingdom. Through these field visits, the Ministry aims to strengthen partnerships with the private sector, understand investors' needs, and ensure that the investment environment remains attractive and capable of drawing in more local and foreign capital, thereby supporting the sustainable growth of the industrial sector and expanding its production base.
