A charity match to honor the late Ali Fayel brings together Gulf stars and Al-Qadisiyah

The city of Al-Khobar will witness a significant sporting and social event this Friday evening, as Al-Qadisiyah FC hosts an exceptional charity match in memory of the late player Ali Fayel, as part of the third edition of Al-Qadisiyah's Ramadan season. This initiative is a gesture of loyalty reflecting the deep bonds uniting the sporting community in the Kingdom and the Gulf countries, and in appreciation of the illustrious career the late player had on the field.

Gulf stars visit Al-Qadisiyah

This match holds special significance due to the presence and participation of prominent figures, transforming the stadium into a carnival bringing together different generations of football stars. Leading the participants is former international star and Saudi national team captain Yasser Al-Qahtani, alongside a constellation of veteran stars from Al-Qadisiyah and other clubs in the Kingdom and the Gulf region, including Bahraini veteran goalkeeper Hamoud Sultan, Mohammed Al-Farhan, Abdulrahman Boursheed, Bandar Al-Khaldi, Hussein Al-Sadiq, and other names who have left an unforgettable mark on the history of Gulf football.

These charitable sporting gatherings are an integral part of the culture of Saudi clubs during the holy month of Ramadan, where sports transcend the concept of competition to become a platform for promoting human values, strengthening ties between veteran players, and reminding the new generation of icons who have given so much to their clubs and their countries.

Excitement at the Zoho Indoor Championship

In the ongoing competitions, the excitement continued in the Zoho Futsal Championship, held as part of the Ramadan season. The Ghadran Group secured their place in the semi-finals after defeating Kuwait Oil 4-2 in a match that saw Sofiane Chaaraoui shine and earn the Man of the Match award. Meanwhile, the Egyptian Media team completed the semi-final lineup after a marathon match against Libya's Al-Suwaihli, which ended in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Ramadan atmosphere and popular heritage

Beyond the pitch, Al-Qadisiyah's Ramadan season is keen to integrate sports with cultural and social heritage. The club's facilities witnessed a large turnout for the cooking and home-style dishes competition. Chef Fahad Al-Shuaibi oversaw the competition, with a judging panel that included Chef Duha Al-Atishan, who praised the club's role in preserving local culinary identity. She emphasized that such events contribute to passing on popular heritage to new generations in an enjoyable, competitive format that brings families together.

The organizers of the season also did not overlook the future aspect, as the talents of the Al-Qadisiyah Academy presented skillful interludes between matches, which were well received by the large crowds, reflecting the great grassroots work that the club is doing to create future stars.
