King Salman Center distributes winter clothes to children in Gaza as part of the Saudi campaign

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its intensive humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, with its field teams distributing winter clothing to affected children in displacement camps in the central Gaza Strip yesterday. This initiative is part of the ongoing Saudi public campaign to aid the Palestinian people, launched by the wise leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate the current humanitarian crisis.
Field teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in the Gaza Strip, oversaw the distribution of winter clothing to ensure it reached those in need in a timely manner. These efforts extended beyond material support to include organizing recreational activities and psychosocial support programs, combining humanitarian aid with the promotion of children's mental health. This stemmed from a deep belief that the children of Gaza deserve moments of joy and security despite the harsh conditions surrounding them.
Context of the Saudi popular campaign
This aid falls under the umbrella of the "Popular Campaign to Aid the Palestinian People" in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. Since its inception, this campaign has successfully established air and sea bridges carrying thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials, reflecting the strong popular and official Saudi solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
The importance of timing and human impact
This initiative is of paramount importance given its timing with the onset of winter, when displaced people in tents and shelters suffer from a sharp drop in temperatures and a lack of heating and warm clothing. Distributing winter clothing directly contributes to protecting children from cold-related illnesses and providing the minimum warmth necessary to maintain their health and physical well-being.
The historical role of the Kingdom
This aid is not a one-off event, but rather an extension of a long history of Saudi support for the Palestinian cause on all political, economic, and humanitarian levels. Through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom reaffirms its leadership in international humanitarian work and its unwavering commitment to standing by affected populations. Saudi Arabia has been one of the largest donors of humanitarian aid to Palestine for decades.
At the end of the distribution, the families of the beneficiary children expressed their deep thanks and gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership, stressing that this initiative touched their actual needs at a difficult time, and brought warmth back to their tents and reassurance to the hearts of their children, thus alleviating part of the burden of displacement and the harshness of winter.
