Mobile medical clinics in Abs serve 679 beneficiaries

Continued humanitarian aid in Yemen

As part of the ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the brotherly Yemeni people, mobile medical clinics affiliated with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued to provide their vital services in the Abs district of Hajjah Governorate. This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable and affected groups amidst the exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing.

The humanitarian context and the importance of mobile clinics

Yemen’s health sector has suffered for years from a severe decline and a critical shortage of medical supplies and specialized personnel as a result of the ongoing crisis. In this context, the vital importance of the mobile medical clinics project implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center becomes clear. These clinics play a pivotal role in delivering primary and emergency healthcare to remote areas and camps for internally displaced persons that lack hospitals and permanent health centers, thus directly contributing to saving lives and reducing the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases.

Medical services statistics for the month of February

Official reports issued by the center show that mobile medical clinics in Abs district received 679 beneficiaries during February, providing them with necessary medical care across various departments and specialties. The infectious disease control clinic saw the highest number of patients, with 454, reflecting the urgent need for rapid intervention to control the spread of diseases in those areas. The internal medicine clinic received 154 patients, while the emergency clinic provided urgent care to 67 individuals. The reproductive health clinic recorded one patient visit, and three people benefited from the health awareness and education section, which aims to raise community awareness about prevention methods.

Accompanying services and medical logistical support

The mobile clinics' efforts extended beyond diagnosis and treatment to include a comprehensive system of supporting medical services to ensure quality care. In this regard, 136 patients visited the nursing services clinic to receive necessary care, while the surgery and dressing department received 5 patients. To ensure the completion of patients' treatment plans, free medications and medical supplies were dispensed to 672 patients. Recognizing the importance of environmental health in reducing infection, the field teams conducted two activities dedicated to the safe disposal of medical waste, reflecting the center's commitment to applying the highest health and safety standards.

The regional and international impact of the King Salman Center's efforts

These figures and on-the-ground achievements reflect the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to its leading role in humanitarian work at both the regional and international levels. These health interventions align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the goal of ensuring healthy lives for all. The continued operation of these clinics represents a lifeline for thousands of Yemenis and underscores the Kingdom's unwavering humanitarian mission to support health and social stability in the region.
