Launch of Khuzam Digital Valley: The future of data centers in Saudi Arabia

In a strategic move that reinforces the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position as a regional technology hub, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, inaugurated the "Khuzam Digital Valley" city, in the presence of the CEO of the National Housing Company (NHC), Mr. Mohammed Al-Bati, and the CEO of NHC Innovation, Eng. Rayan Al-Aql. This significant announcement came during the opening ceremony of the Future Real Estate Forum, a major platform showcasing the latest trends in the real estate development and investment sector.

A strategic project supporting the digital economy

This move is a key part of the National Housing Company's (NHC) strategy to expand its investments to include advanced digital infrastructure and smart, technology-driven real estate development. NHC Innovation is leading the development and implementation of this ambitious project, which aims to be a model for integrating real estate with technology.

Commenting on the event, Professor Mohammed Al-Bati, CEO of NHC, stated: “Khozam Digital Valley represents a strategic step to accelerate the Kingdom’s ambitions in the digital economy and enhance its position as a global hub for digital infrastructure, while achieving long-term value in line with the goals of the National Transformation Program.”.

Global specifications for an integrated technological environment

The Khuzam Digital Valley project spans a vast area of nearly 200,000 square meters and has been meticulously designed to provide integrated real estate solutions that meet the growing global and local demand for data centers. The city directly targets major data center operators, cloud computing companies, artificial intelligence developers, as well as telecommunications service providers and advanced technology companies.

For his part, Engineer Ryan Al-Aql, CEO of NHC Innovation, emphasized the project’s future readiness, saying: “Through Khuzam Digital Valley, NHC Innovation is providing a future-ready ecosystem that supports scalable, highly reliable and sustainable digital operations, thus enhancing the project’s position as an innovation-led growth platform.”.

Vision context and the importance of data centers

This project is of particular importance in light of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the national economy and reduce dependence on oil by strengthening non-oil sectors, most notably the digital economy. The Kingdom is working diligently to become a logistical and digital hub connecting three continents, with data centers serving as the backbone of this vision, given their crucial role in storing and processing the massive amounts of data upon which future technologies depend.

The launch of Khuzam Digital Valley reflects the global trend toward smart cities and specialized technology zones, where real estate is no longer just residential or commercial buildings, but has become an incubator for digital innovation. The project is expected to attract foreign direct investment from major global technology companies, creating high-quality job opportunities for Saudi youth in the fields of engineering, programming, and data management.

Advanced infrastructure and promising investment opportunities

The project offers an unparalleled infrastructure system, including a stable and sustainable energy supply, advanced digital and engineering services, and highly reliable communication networks. It also provides developed land ready for construction according to the highest international safety and security standards, enabling investors to commence operations quickly and efficiently.

At the end of the announcement, NHC Innovation extended an open invitation to investors and stakeholders in the fields of technology, data centers, energy, and communications to take advantage of the opportunities offered by “Khuzam Digital Valley” and participate in building a future digital city that represents a promising investment platform at the level of the Middle East and North Africa region.
