His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a telephone call today from His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as part of the ongoing communication and joint coordination between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries.
During the call, the strong fraternal bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were reviewed, and ways to enhance them and develop prospects for joint cooperation in various fields were discussed, in order to serve the interests of the two peoples and countries, in addition to discussing developments in regional and international events and the efforts made regarding them.
The depth of historical relations between Riyadh and Islamabad
These telephone conversations are a continuation of a long and distinguished history of strategic relations between the Kingdom and Pakistan, characterized by depth and stability for decades. This relationship is based on strong religious and cultural ties, as the Kingdom is the holiest city in Islam and places particular importance on its relations with major Islamic countries like Pakistan. Saudi-Pakistani relations have always been distinguished by a convergence of views on many critical issues affecting the Islamic world, making coordination between them a cornerstone of regional stability.
Strengthening economic and investment cooperation
This contact is particularly significant given the current economic momentum in relations between the two countries. Saudi Arabia, within the framework of its Vision 2030, seeks to expand its foreign investments and strengthen economic partnerships. Pakistan is a key partner in this endeavor, and recent high-level visits have explored investment opportunities in the energy, infrastructure, mining, and agriculture sectors. This contact reflects the Saudi leadership's commitment to supporting the Pakistani economy and enhancing trade, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of both nations.
Coordinating positions on international issues
On the political front, Saudi-Pakistani coordination plays a pivotal role in addressing the security and political challenges facing the region and the world. Riyadh and Islamabad work closely under the umbrella of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and in other international forums to unify the Muslim world and defend its just causes. The telephone call between the Crown Prince and the Pakistani Prime Minister underscores the continuation of political consultations to ensure international peace and security, and to confront current challenges with a shared vision and unified positions.
