The Ministry of Foreign Affairs inaugurated a data exhibition in cooperation with SDAIA

Under the patronage of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh hosted a significant technological event today, with the inauguration of the "Data Exhibition" by His Excellency Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Executive Affairs, Mr. Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri. This exhibition is the result of strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and bears the slogan "Our Data... Accessible with Awareness, Protected with Responsibility, Invested in the Future.".

Promoting a culture of data protection in diplomatic work

The exhibition primarily aims to reinforce the concepts of data classification and its paramount importance within the government system, with a focus on protection mechanisms and access control regulations. This event comes at a time of rapid global digital transformation, making information security a cornerstone of diplomatic and administrative work. The exhibition seeks to educate ministry staff on the latest standards and policies related to data governance, ensuring its integrity and confidentiality.

Integration with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and digital transformation

This exhibition is not an isolated event, but rather part of the significant technological transformation underway in Saudi Arabia, driven by the goals of Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence. The Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) plays a pivotal role in leading this national initiative by empowering government entities to leverage data as a strategic national asset. The collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reflects the commitment of sovereign sectors to implementing the highest digital quality standards to enhance operational efficiency.

The importance of data quality and supporting decision making

The exhibition highlighted key themes, most notably:

  • Data quality: Defining the impact of accurate and complete data on the outputs of institutional work.
  • Participation and integration: The importance of data exchange between government agencies to promote joint work and avoid duplication.
  • Leadership support: Enabling decision-makers to rely on accurate data analysis to make sound, evidence-based strategic decisions.

Awareness of the Personal Data Protection System

In line with national legislation, the exhibition focused specifically on raising awareness of the "Personal Data Protection System," outlining the rights of data subjects and the obligations of data controllers. This step is essential to ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting individual privacy, which enhances trust in government digital services and increases employee responsibility in handling sensitive information.
