
Numbers.. UNESCO documents the Kingdom's educational leap of 83% in higher education
The international report revealed that Saudi Arabia has achieved gender parity at a rate of 1.01, recording an increase in the enrollment rate in technical and vocational education to exceed the 30% mark during the year 2024.

During the ministerial session, the Deputy Minister of Education for Planning, Engineer Saad Al-Ghamdi, outlined efforts to enhance the quality of educational outcomes, noting that King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals had achieved a global ranking of 67th in the QS World University Rankings.
Al-Ghamdi also pointed out that several Saudi universities had entered the list of the top 100 universities globally in patents for 2025, clearly reflecting the growing research and innovation environment in the Kingdom.

The Undersecretary highlighted the success of the “Strategic Scholarship” program, which includes more than 56,000 scholarship recipients, and confirmed that the beneficiaries of the “Study in Saudi Arabia” services have reached more than 200,000 international students.

Engineer Al-Ghamdi added that efforts are underway to grant licenses to prestigious international universities to open branches within the Kingdom, diversifying educational options and enhancing its competitiveness as an attractive global destination.
He emphasized that the experience of aligning education with labor market needs represents an inspiring international model for transforming challenges into sustainable development opportunities within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.
At the conclusion of its participation, the Ministry's delegation also held bilateral meetings with UNESCO leaders to discuss future cooperation opportunities, follow up on joint projects, and exchange educational policies to strengthen Saudi Arabia's international presence.
