
The Grand Mufti of Kyrgyzstan praises Saudi Arabia's role and the launch of Ramadan programs in Bishkek
The Grand Mufti of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sheikh Abdulaziz Zakirov, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays a leading and historic role in serving Islam and Muslims across the globe. He commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to promote the values of tolerance and moderation and to extend a helping hand to Muslim nations. This came during the official launch ceremony of the "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Gift of Dates" and "Iftar for Fasting People" programs, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.
The depth of fraternal and historical relations
Speaking about bilateral relations, Sheikh Zakirov explained that the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kyrgyz Republic is not a recent development, but rather a deeply rooted one characterized by strong fraternal and historical ties based on shared religious and cultural values. He noted that these ongoing initiatives reflect the Saudi leadership's commitment to strengthening bonds of love and social solidarity among Muslims, especially during blessed religious seasons such as the holy month of Ramadan, leaving a positive impact on the Kyrgyz people.
Details of Ramadan programs and unprecedented figures
The ceremony was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Rasheed, along with a number of senior officials from the Presidential Office, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Kyrgyz Parliament. During the event, statistics were revealed reflecting the expansion of the program this year, with the amount of dates allocated for distribution in Kyrgyzstan reaching 10 tons, a significant increase of 5 tons compared to last year. It is expected that approximately 40,000 people will benefit from the dates program, while the program for providing iftar meals to those fasting during Ramadan aims to reach around 3,500 individuals, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to expanding the reach of its humanitarian efforts.
Caring for the Holy Quran and humanitarian work
The Grand Mufti's remarks were not limited to food aid; he also highlighted the Kingdom's cultural and religious role, praising initiatives and programs dedicated to serving the Holy Quran, including local competitions for boys and girls held with Saudi support and supervision. He emphasized that these integrated efforts, overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, with close monitoring by His Excellency the Minister, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, embody the Kingdom's sense of responsibility as the Qibla of Muslims and the birthplace of revelation, and contribute directly to strengthening noble Islamic values based on mercy and coexistence.
The Grand Mufti of Kyrgyzstan concluded his remarks by emphasizing that these programs are widely appreciated and accepted by all segments of the Kyrgyz people, expressing his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom’s leadership and its generous people for their continued support, which embodies the highest meanings of Islamic solidarity.
