Nusk app: 51 million users and 130 digital services for Hajj and Umrah
The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, announced that the “Nusk” app has achieved a remarkable digital milestone, surpassing 51 million users worldwide. This announcement highlights the significant success of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in digital transformation, particularly in the sector of serving pilgrims, as the app provides more than 130 integrated digital services during this year’s Hajj season.
Historical background: From “We performed Umrah” to “We performed Hajj rituals”
The Nusk app, officially launched in 2022, represents a natural and strategic evolution of the previous Eatmarna platform. Its launch was part of the "Serving the Guests of God" program, one of the key initiatives of Saudi Vision 2030. The primary goal of this unified platform is to facilitate the arrival of Muslims from around the world to perform Umrah and visit the holy sites, enriching their religious and cultural experience. The app offers a wide range of services, including issuing e-visas, booking Umrah packages and permits, as well as booking flights, accommodations, and transportation, thus bringing together all the needs of pilgrims and visitors in one user-friendly platform.
Importance and impact: Enhancing Saudi Arabia's global leadership
The success of the Nusk app on this scale reflects the profound impact of the advanced digital infrastructure in which the Kingdom has invested. Domestically, this digital transformation contributes to enhancing the efficiency of Hajj and Umrah season management, improving the quality of services provided, and supporting the digital economy by empowering emerging technology companies and innovators in this field. Internationally, the app solidifies the Kingdom's position as a leader in leveraging technology to serve Islamic causes and presents a global model for managing large crowds and religious gatherings.
Saudi Arabia has already ranked first globally in the Communications and Technology Development Index, the Cybersecurity Index, and the Digital Readiness Index, according to Vision 2030 statistics. These achievements would not have been possible without a strong infrastructure and an advanced communications network, which enabled the provision of seamless and reliable digital services to millions of users at the same time, ensuring a more convenient and secure Hajj and Umrah experience for the pilgrims.
