TEDxPNU 2026 Conference at Princess Nourah University in Riyadh
Princess Nourah University is preparing to launch the inspiring TEDxPNU conference
Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, is preparing to host a prominent intellectual and cultural event, the “TEDxPNU” conference, scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the university's Conference and Seminar Center. This event will bring together a distinguished group of speakers and specialists who will share their inspiring stories and experiences with university staff, students, and interested members of the community, aiming to enrich dialogue and exchange innovative ideas.
Background on the TEDx platform and its global importance
TEDx conferences are local versions of the renowned global TED conferences, a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading “ideas worth spreading.” Founded in 1984 as a platform combining technology, entertainment, and design, TED quickly expanded to encompass all fields of knowledge. Independently organized around the world, TEDx events provide local communities with the opportunity to host speakers from their own environment to share their ideas and experiences, contributing to a positive local impact while also reaching a global audience through TED’s digital platforms.
Conference slogan: “What the picture cannot contain”
This year's conference is themed "What the Picture Doesn't Capture," a profound title that sheds light on the hidden dimensions behind success stories. In a world dominated by the polished final image, the conference aims to delve into the depths of human experience, exploring the journeys, challenges, and hardships that shaped these achievements. The core idea is that the image shows the result, but the true story lies in the unseen details, which hold the real inspiration and valuable lessons.
Key themes and alignment with Vision 2030
The conference focuses on three key and vital areas: health and entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and technology, and cultural and human communication. Through these themes, it aims to empower female students by exposing them to the latest developments and expert experiences, thereby enhancing their capabilities and inspiring them to achieve success in their academic and professional careers. This approach aligns with the objectives of the Human Capital Development Program, one of the programs under Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on investing in national talent and equipping them with the skills necessary for the future.
An accompanying exhibition showcasing the students' creativity
The conference will be accompanied by an art exhibition featuring 21 works created by female university students. These works explore the concept of "what a picture cannot contain" through creative projects and innovative ideas. The exhibition provides an interactive space to showcase the students' creativity and highlight their talents, reflecting the role of the Deanship of Student Affairs in achieving the university's strategic goals of developing skills and knowledge, fostering an interactive environment that supports creativity and innovation, and solidifying the university's presence as an effective educational system in building national capabilities.
