Air rifle services via Absher: Steps to report lost licenses

In a new step that enhances the digital transformation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Public Security Directorate announced the launch of a new suite of electronic services related to air rifles through the "Absher" platform. This step comes as a continuation of the Ministry of Interior's efforts to automate procedures and facilitate services provided to citizens and residents, eliminating the need for beneficiaries to visit branches of the General Directorate of Weapons and Explosives to complete these transactions.
The new services allow users to submit instant electronic reports in case of loss or damage to their air rifle licenses. This service represents a significant leap forward in saving time and effort, as users can complete the entire process via their phone or computer, and easily review and track the status of previous reports.

The importance of digital transformation in security services
This update is part of a comprehensive strategy adopted by the Saudi Ministry of Interior in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to achieve an efficient, paperless e-government. These services contribute to increasing the efficiency of security and administrative work, as digital databases allow for greater accuracy in monitoring airguns and tracking their licenses, thus enhancing public safety and security.
Furthermore, the updates included the “functional weapon carrying authorization” service, which enables relevant authorities to issue an electronic authorization for beneficiaries to carry weapons within the scope of approved job duties, thus regulating the process of carrying weapons and making it more organized and transparent.
These services reflect the Public Security’s commitment to developing a smart services system and providing a distinguished user experience that ensures speed of completion and reliability of procedures, which contributes to improving the quality of life and facilitating government transactions for all segments of society.
